Match report: Barnstaple Town 5 Keynsham Town 0

BARNSTAPLE Town brushed aside Keynsham Town with a 5-0 victory in their Toolstation Western League First Division match.

Goals from Will Nicholls (two), Lee Francis (two) and Ryan Turner kept Town at the top of the table on goal difference with three games in hand on second-placed Wincanton Town.

Brought into the side, Nicholls showed Barnstaple’s strength in depth as he scored the opening two goals while Dave Pearse, who has 12 to his name this season, watched from the bench.

The first came as Steve Holland broke the offside trap before squaring it for Nicholls to blast in from 10 yards.
Moments later Nicholls was at it again as Billy Tucker broke down the left and found Turner whose effort shook the crossbar before falling to the striker.

Francis made it 3-0 when he danced through the defence and rifled home.

Barnstaple continued with the same tempo in the second half and Keynsham couldn’t handle it.

Turner latched on to a Holland cross to make it 4-0 before Francis capped an exceptional performance as he added a toe-poke finish.

Barnstaple’s next fixture is against Chard Town in the Les Phillips Cup on Saturday.
