2014-15 First Division Champions‏

Saturday’s game away to Oldland Abbotonians was a day of mixed emotions for the management, players, travelling fans and everyone associated with Barnstaple Town.

Barum succumbed to a 1-0 defeat away at Oldland Abottonians, ourr first defeat in the league for over 8 months, and with it an end to an amazing 37 game unbeaten run. It was also our first away defeat for over a year, the last being away to Warminster Town on April 2nd 2014.

However, the gloom that cast a shadow over the game when the final whistle blew was almost immediately lifted when news filtered through that Welton Rovers and Cribbs had shared the points in a 1-1 draw. This meant that Barum were crowned Western League First Division Champions with two games of the regular season still to play, returning to the Premier League only two years after being relegated.

We are the Champions.
