Barnstaple Town win 7-0 away to Welton Rovers in Toolstation Western League

BARNSTAPLE Town recorded their biggest away win for more than 10 years today.

Ryan Turner scored four goals as they beat Welton Rovers 7-0 in the Toolstation Western League.

It was a third straight Premier Division win for Barnstaple who are in fifth place ahead of Tuesday night’s home game against winless bottom side Clevedon Town.

Manager Barry Yeo said: “We were absolute quality. We scored some lovely goals and totally dominated the whole game.”

Dave Pearse seized on a rebound off the crossbar to score the first goal.

Turner soon made it 2-0 before Pearse added a second shortly before half-time.

Turner headed in a Jack Jenkins cross early in the second half and ran on to a through-ball to complete his hat-trick.

Jenkins fired a free-kick into the corner and Turner capped the win with his fourth goal – and 10th in five matches – late in the game.
