Barnstaple Town recorded their first win of the Evo-Stik League South West campaign this afternoon.
Barum came away from their match with Cinderford Town 3-1 winners, despite playing 55 minutes with 10-men.
The three points gets Richard Pears’ side up-and-running and will no doubt be a huge boost ahead of a bank holiday derby against Bideford at Mill Road on Monday.
Jordan Charran got the visitors off the mark after 10 minutes.
Nathan Cooper doubled Barum’s advantage 17 minutes later.
The visitors were reduced to 10 men with 10 minutes of the first half remaining. Karl Rickard was given his marching orders for an elbow on Dan Clare.
Clare would eventually be taken to hospital as a result of the challenge. Andy Lewis came on in place of him and slotted the spot-kick eight minutes after the initial challenge to get the home side back in the game.
Barnstaple kept it tight after the break and they eventually re-extended their lead with just under 15 minutes remaining through Teigan Rosenquest.
