Away games, Hard work & Records.

Wednesday’s long trip to Warminster saw the Mighty Barum pick up all the points in yet another hard fought match. The 1-0 win saw us extend our unbeaten run to 33 matches, equalling the club record set in ’93/94, extend the run of consecutive clean sheets to 9 (10 including the Cup game) and set the outright club record of 20 clean sheets in a season. This result also saw us stay unbeaten away from home this season, only conceding 5 goals in 17 games.

Tomorrow’s game at home to Welton Rovers is the second part of the top-of-the-table clash. A win would see Barum equal club records for most wins and points in a season (even adjusting for the early days of 2pts for a win), while a draw would see them take the unbeaten run outright.

As Barum are currently 5pts clear at the top, win draw or lose they will still be top whatever the result, however Welton have a game in hand so a win for them would make for a tight run-in.
