The search for their first points of the season goes on for Barnstaple Town as they went down by the odd goal in three.
Barnstaple started the game brightly with Neil Last having an effort saved by visiting keeper Eric Edge and Jordan Charran also having an effort palmed away, Jack Langford showed desire to get the rebound but couldn’t keep the effort under the bar.
The visitors were pacy upfront, Edji Mbunga shot over the bar from the edge of the area, the first half was goalless and a fairly even affair.
The deadlock was broken on 54 minutes when a threw ball from sub Yeshaya Lomotey found Mbunga who ran through on goal and rounded Barnstaple keeper Rob Holmes and pass the ball into an empty net.
Barnstaple were level on 72 minutes when a Jack Langford cross was headed down by Jordan Charran into the path of Jack Rice-Lethaby who shot into the bottom corner of the net to bring the home side level.
The knockout blow was on 82 minutes when Mbunga chested a pass through to Sub Ewan Dunbar who rifled a shot past Holmes at the near post. Barnstaple drove forward in search of an equaliser but the centre back pairing of Korey Pring and Joe Noakes dealt with any danger.
The last action of the game saw Barnstaple Keeper Holmes misjudge a long ball and Adam Bloomfield ran through but was brought down by Holmes, the resulting penalty taken by Slimbridge was saved low down in the bottom left hand corner by Holmes
