We thought it was time for a bit of an update/recap on what’s been happening so far during the close season. Please click on any of the text in red, as that will take you to the related page for more information.

We will start off with the ground, the usual work has been carried out on the pitch to ensure the best possible playing surface for the pre-season and league games. Works are almost competed on the renovations of our changing room facilities to comply with the FA’s new requirements, and we have taken delivery of a Portakabin which has become the new changing room facilities for the match officials.

Once the fitting out of the Portakabin is complete it will be getting a lick of paint to match it with the rest of the buildings. Our ‘Chicken Run’ covered terrace is currently receiving a much needed spruce up as it was looking very tired, and it’s proving a big job.

We will be holding a work day in early July (details to be announced soon) where anybody who can lend a few hours to help get the ground ready for the season ahead will be invited down.

Next up we take a look at the players that have been retained, and new additions.

So far on the retain list are the following:

Steve Oliver, Mike Humphreys, Liam Short, Jed Harper-Penman, Scott Sharp, Matt Ward, Steve Holland, Saddam Bello, Jack Jenkins.

So far there have been two new signings for the coming season:

Liam Gregory returns to Barum from Bideford.
Brian Levien joins us from Torridgeside.
Theo Simpson joins on loan from Exeter City.
